'The Pacific' (Sun., 9PM, HBO) series premiere
Is this 10-part World War II miniseries reminiscent of 'Band of Brothers' and 'Saving Private Ryan'? It is indeed, which is no surprise, since the producers of that classic TV miniseries and that Oscar-winning movie, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, are also the producers of 'Pacific.' And that's a good thing, because 'The Pacific' is as emotional and powerful as both of those projects, as it unfolds the story of the war in Japan, through the eyes of three U.S. Marines (all based on real-life U.S. Marines). '24' alum James Badge Dale, Jon Seda and Joe Mazzello star, after going through a 10-day boot camp to prepare for the 10-month shoot that has resulted in an unflinchingly realistic portrait of our heroic, and often tragic, Marines in action.

'Who Is Clark Rockefeller?' – Will, what would Grace think? Eric McCormack stars in this fact-based movie about a con man who deceives and marries his wife, and then, when his lies begin to unravel, takes off with their daughter. (Sat., 9PM, Lifetime)

'Saturday Night Live' – Jude Law hosts and Pearl Jam, well, jams. (Sat., 11:30PM, NBC)

'Minute to Win It' – Food Network staple Guy Fieri hosts this new game show, which may be the silliest since 'Wipeout,' in which players have one minute to complete a silly task. If they successfully complete 10, they get $1 million. Yeah, we know, it sounds easy ... (Sun., 7PM, NBC) series premiere

'Celebrity Apprentice' – Another season with The Donald and his celeb, wannabe moguls, including Bret Michaels, Darryl Strawberry, Rod Blogojevich, Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper. (Sun., 9PM, NBC) season 9 premiere

'Desperate Housewives' – Heidi Klum and Paulina Porizkova guest star as Heidi Klum and Paulina Porizkova, Gaby's former modeling cohorts. (Sun., 9PM, ABC)

'Sizing Up Sperm' – NGC producers cleverly use humans to represent the scope of the journey of 250 million sperm as they try to reach one single egg. (Sun., 9PM, NGC)

'Ultimate Recipe Showdown' – The new season kicks off with a $25,000 prize for the best comfort food recipe, including something called 'Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese.' (Sun., 9PM, Food Network) season 3 premiere

'Sons of Tucson' – Three underage brothers, whose dad is in prison, hire a slacker ('Reaper' star Tyler Labine) to pose as their papa so they can avoid being put in foster homes. Hilarity, hopefully, will ensue. (Sun., 9:30PM, VH1) series premiere
