Band of Brothers creators Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg  have teamed up once again to bring a fresh perspective on WWII in The Pacific. The highly anticipated series follows the stories of three U.S. Marines — Eugene Sledge (Joseph Mazzello), Robert Leckie (James Badge Dale) and John Basilone (Jon Seda) — as they fight campaigns in Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and other locations in the Pacific Theater.

Part 1 of the 10-part miniseries begins in the aftermath of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and follows the 1st Marine Division landing on Guadalcanal in August 1942.  The Pacific premieres Sunday at 9/8c on HBO.
