Stiller And FOX Think CIA Is Laughable 2009/1/24 9:31:12

Listen, I'm not blaming any of you specifically, but seeing as how Paul Blart: Rhymes with Fart made 40 million dollars in the past three days, I know that some of you went out and saw it. You had to. And now, this is happening.

FOX has greenlit a new pilot called Walorsky about a, you guessed it, mall cop in Buffalo, New York. I hope he's fat. Really fat. And he falls a lot. We deserve it. Strangely enough though, according to Variety, this pilot was greenlit way before the success of Paul Blart at the Box Office. So, Walorsky was coming whether we wanted it or not.

What other shows has FOX picked up? Well, they liked Ben Stiller's new comedy called The Station. Stiller is executive producing, and possibly directing Station which revolves around "a covert CIA office in South America, where the team must install a new dictator."

There were a bunch more new shows that FOX greenlit for pilots this week. Up first? Comedy. Two Dollar Beer from Mike Binder (Reign Over Me, The Upside of Anger), about "a Detroit couple and their family and friends, all of whom must adjust to the changing world around them" – and Sons of Tucson about a con man posing as the father of three boys.

On the drama front, we'll soon be checking out Human Target, based on the DC book and executive produced by McG. Target is about "mysterious freelancer Christopher Chance, who takes on a different identity each week to help those in need. Looks like FOX might be prepping a new Dollhouse replacement show.

Maggie Hill is taking a few cues from Showtime's United States of Tara, by putting a brain malfunction front and center. Brian Grazer is executive producing Hill which is about "about a female surgeon who manages to work around her schizophrenia thanks to modern medicine."
