'Sons of Anarchy' creator angry over Emmy 2011/8/21 21:53:32

Sons of Anarchy showrunner Kurt Sutter has slammed the Television Academy for snubbing the show in the recently-announced Emmy Award nominations.

Sutter, who is married to Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal, began a Twitter rant about the perceived snub, suggesting that the Academy are too old to appreciate the FX series.

"Best part of not getting an Emmy nod, not I don't have to pretend I give a s**t about the profiteering d-bag Academy, because you know if we were nominated I'm be all humble and blowing smoke up their asses," Sutter tweeted this week. "Now I can stay true to myself and just be a d**k."

"If my mum and dad were alive this Emmy snub would kill them," he wrote. "That's not true, they were too old to understand my show. Just like the Academy."  Sutter also took a shot at Ryan Murphy's Fox comedy Glee, which has been nominated in several categories, saying that he is tired of the acclaim "piling up at its feet".

"You do know that I'm really okay with no noms right?" Sutter later added. "If I was really upset I wouldn't be ranting, I'd be plotting. I'm all about the love."

Earlier this month it was confirmed that Britain's Got Talent judge David Hasselhoff will guest star on the new season of Sons of Anarchy as a former porn star.
