The oft time underused Maria Bello (A History of Violence, The Cooler), has signed a deal with HBO to star in a new series for the groundbreaking cable network. According to Variety, Bello will star in a new project written by The Shield's Gary Lennon.

Bello will play a woman who must turn to a life of crime during a desperate moment in her life when she's forced to raise her three sons by herself. This new drama doesn't have a name yet, but it sounds like it will be in intense. Bello's character winds up employing "her sons as henchmen, leading them all down a destructive road."
